Our Ethics and Values

Stay Weird Surf Ltd is not a fast fashion company. We care who we do business with, and we only work with companies who have the same ethical values and ethos as ourselves.
Our manufacturers are  based in the UK, Mainland Europe, China and Bangladesh, operating under  Fair Trade regulations.
Labour Policy
We only do business with companies outside the UK who have a anti-child labour policy and can prove that child labour or enforced adult labour is NOT used in their factories or supply chain and that no employee is made to work against their will or work as bonded or compulsory labour.
Our T-shirt supplier's factory is Accredited Child Labour Free meaning that a  supply chain, products and manufacturers are child labour free. (It is very important to us that our suppliers can prove they do not use child labour).
Organic Cotton Policy
We use only sustainable quality organic cotton grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides for our T-shirts.
Our T-Shirt supplier is  GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.
Organic is the only system which eliminates highly toxic substances from the environment, the production of organic cotton uses less water than regular cotton, most organic cotton is grown in rain-fed areas, this mean farmers rely on rain to water their cotton, instead of having to extract water from the ground which can put pressure on water supplies in local.
No polluting pesticides - hazardous synthetic pesticides need to be diluted to bring them to 'safe' levels when they enter waterways - over one fifth of water used to grow non-organic cotton is used for this purpose. This is not the case for organic cotton because hazardous synthetic pesticides are banned in organic farming.
Healthier soil - organic farmers use natural methods like composting to create healthy soil. Healthy soil acts like a sponge, soaking up water during floods and holding it for longer during droughts. -  Information Source https://www.soilassociation.org/organic-living/fashion-textiles/organic-cotton
